In " Mirror, Mirror On The Armoire", when trying to save Brainy and Blossom from Gargamel's magical armoire that will lock up anyone who looks at it, he shows off his muscles, but he is captured when he winks to the mirror. While at home, Hefty refuses to let his fellow Smurfs (except Smurfette and Baby) visit at first, embarrassed to be seen in such a vulnerable state, feeling miserable and lost without being able to walk around and exercise as usual.Ī more negative trait for Hefty is that he sometimes thinks with his muscles rather than with his brain. In " A Smurfy Christmas", he considers and later tries to beat up Jokey for deliberately mixing up the Christmas letters.Īt the beginning of " Hefty's Heart", Hefty has a noticeably nicer attitude than most episodes, as he is shown helping Lazy and Brainy without any irritability and sings about how he loves helping his friends while out chopping firewood in the forest.Īfter breaking his leg in " Hefty And The Wheelsmurfer", Hefty is left temporarily bed bound.

Hefty's aggressiveness tends to bring out the worst in him. If he feels provoked or intimidated by anyone (or anything), Hefty often feels the need to either prove his strength or deliver a pounding. Despite his friendliness, Hefty is also prone to getting aggressive, as he is the main Smurf to give Brainy a clobbering in the comics and a toss out of the village in both cartoons. Hefty is known for being heroic, brave, earnest, trustworthy, confident, friendly, protective, and strong-willed. He is also one of the few Smurfs who will accept any kind of dangerous journey, making him one of the top choices to send out of the Village to retrieve something. Hefty mainly carries the heavy load that other Smurfs can't. He can manage to bend things that only can be bent with machines, such as metal poles. Prior to " The Jewel Smurfer", the only thing that visually separates Hefty from the other Smurfs was his tendency to carry around a halberd. In " Grandir avec les Schtroumpfs" and the 2021 series, he has a noticeable toned upper body. In the 1981 series, his heart tattoo had an arrow shot through it. He is easily identified by the heart tattoo on his right upper arm, although it sometimes appears on the left upper arm or both upper arms. However, in " Smurfy Secrets", it is revealed that Hefty greases his chest to look strong. Hefty is also the most athletic of the Smurfs, able to climb up tall trees and bring down whatever is up there without much effort.

He spends his mornings exercising, and his house is full of work-out equipment.

In " Smurfette Overdoes It!", Papa Smurf has remarked as Hefty not always being as needed as other Smurfs, so he claims that Hefty's job is lifting weights to stay active. Also, he has a quick temper and can be a hothead, jumping into action without thinking things through and creating his own brand of chaos. Unfortunately for Hefty, he falls short in the humor department, taking everything quite literally. And though they all respect him, sometimes the others act particularly naughty or extra sloppy, just to test his sense of humor. This also means he can lose patience with his tribe’s disorderly behavior and constant flirtation with chaos. His bulging muscles make him feel protective of and responsible for his fellow band of Smurfs, even if they don’t believe they need protecting. Hefty is naturally extra strong, and he believes that with great power comes great responsibility. 7.5 The Smurfs 2: The Video Game (Console).7.2 The Smurfs: The TeleTransport Smurf. In Germany, a Bergstadt refers to a settlement near mineral deposits vested with town privileges, Bergregal rights and tax exemption, in order to promote the economic development of the mining region.
